Enver Yücel: "We Provide $120 Million in Scholarships"

Following the memorandum of understanding providing 100% scholarships to national athletes at 52 foundation universities and at private schools and colleges affiliated with the Private Education Association, the Ministry of Youth and Sports today signed a memorandum of understanding with 11 schools and 3 private education associations.

Referring to the importance of sports in education, Bahçeşehir Uğur Educational Institutions (BUEK) President Enver Yücel said: "In total, we provide our students with scholarships worth 120 million across Türkiye in all branches."

Stating that, as Bahçeşehir Uğur Educational Institutions, they support more than a thousand athletes from preschool to university, Enver Yücel said: "Today was a good day; institutions supporting national athletes came together with the participation of our honorable minister. At our educational institutions, we attach great importance, in particular, to building a foundation for athletes. Thanks to having basketball teams across Türkiye, as in every field, we continue to make progress, having also enabled nearly 9,000 students to earn the title of national athlete. Our student numbers are in the hundreds of thousands, and it is unthinkable for us to provide these students with an education without sports. Education must go hand in hand with sports and the arts. If we want to achieve success in sports in a country, we need to start with education first, as in every field. In this regard, in total, we provide our students with scholarships worth 120 million across Türkiye in all branches. Therefore, our goal in the coming years is to make our students love sports and to raise students who will take to the world stage through sports and wave our glorious flag. That is why we work day and night."
